Robbery Suspect apprehended

Thanks to the assistance of the Blue Springs Police Department, Matthew Williams has been located and is in custody.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate 21-year-old Matthew R. Williams, who is charged with first-degree robbery for an incident that took place at Smithville Lake late July 17 into the early morning hours of July 18. Williams was one of several suspects in an incident in which the victim was held against his will, pistol whipped and stripped of his belongings.
Matthew Williams is 6’7 and weighs about 220 pounds. His photo is attached. He has ties to Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and Raytown. Anyone who knows where he is should call 911 or the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 816-407-3700.
The other suspects in the robbery are in custody and have been charged: 18-year-old Haeli Smith, 21-year-old Georgio M. Sparks and 18-year-old Mason X. Card.
