Sheriff's Office candy drive underway
Community generosity helped the Clay County Sheriff’s Office welcome about 2,000 people to their Trunk or Treat event last year, and the agency is once again kicking off its candy drive for this year’s Halloween celebration.
Trunk or Treat 2026 will be 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church parking lot, located at 1600 N. Rte. 291, Liberty, Mo. Public candy donations have helped make this event - the Sheriff’s Office’s most popular community outreach event of the year – possible.
Residents can now donate unopened bags of individually wrapped candy in bins at the following locations:
Verimore Bank
Kearney – 455 Sam Barr Dr., Suite 100
Kansas City – 8140 N. Brighton Ave., Suite A
Liberty – 1178 W. Kansas St.
Hy-Vee
Gladstone – 7117 N. Prospect Ave.
Liberty – 109 N. Blue Jay Dr.
