Two Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies and a Gladstone Police officer were in an officer-involved shooting the night of March 30. One man is deceased. No law enforcement officers were injured. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department is investigating the incident.
Gladstone Police requested assistance from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on a traffic stop at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday at Englewood and Garfield, just inside Kansas City, Mo. Deputies reported shots fired at 10:36 p.m.
Kansas City Police recovered a gun at the scene. Their investigation of the incident is ongoing. The involved deputies are on administrative leave, in accordance with Sheriff's Office policy.
