Brief phone outage scheduled Thursday, 911 not affected

Sheriff’s Office phones will be shut down for an upgrade for approximately 30 minutes Thursday evening. This will not affect 911.
The scheduled outage is part of a countywide telephone system upgrade. It is estimated to last from about 6 to 6:30 p.m. April 27. Both the non-emergency phone number (816-407-3700) and Detention Center phone number (816-407-3800) will be down during that time. If the outage lasts beyond 6:30 p.m., we will provide an update.
