This is a civilian entry level position in our Detention Center. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.

Current shift assignments are as follows 7am - 7pm or 7pm - 7am. Must be able to work any shift assigned.

Responsible for patrolling and supervising inmates inside the detention center, conducts periodic counts, searches inmates, intervenes during emergencies and escorts/transports inmates.

Previous military experience or corrections/security background preferred.

Detention Officers are eligible to apply for a scholarship to a law enforcement academy.

Starting salary: $43,000 yearly plus uniform allowance and benefits.
