Save a life by donating blood with the American Red Cross from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the First Presbyterian Church, 138 Main St., Liberty, Mo., on the bridge. Make an appointment at https://www.redcrossblood.org/ and enter ClayCounty. All donors will get a $15 e-gift card to the merchant of their choice by email.

Additionally, all participants who complete a blood donation can receive free A1C testing, which is commonly used to test for diabetes and prediabetes. No fasting is required.
